In today’s digital world we receive so much different information that it can be called a routine day. It is really hard sometimes to figure out whether our information is right or wrong. Such work always takes lots of time and effort. People should rest after a long routine day. There are numerous ways of getting rest. One of them is gambling. If you enjoy testing your luck try your skills at online bookmakers. We wish you good luck!

Experiment About Our Confidence in Knowledge

Adrian Ward conducted eight experiments involving almost two thousand people. Experiments have shown that people who search for answers on the Internet are much more confident in their knowledge and in the accuracy of their own memory (and often without any reason) than those who do without Google.

During several experiments, participants had to take a test of general knowledge by answering ten questions. Some of them were allowed to google information, while the rest had to answer independently. Participants were also asked how they rate their cognitive abilities and their confidence in their answers.

Results of the Experiment

The results have shown that people who were searching the information on the internet have become more confident in their knowledge, rather than those who were seeking the information in other ways.

Further experiments also showed that participants who googled answers often perceived information found in an external source as internal. It looked like it was retrieved from their own memory. The speed and ease of online search, and its smooth, seamless connection to our internal cognitive processes, give users a deceptive sense of the limitlessness of their own knowledge.

The boundaries between the brain and Google are blurred, and sometimes completely disappear, and people no longer understand where they end and the Internet begins. This leads to a false sense that the information found on the web was actually found in one’s own head, the researcher explained.

 Some Thoughts

From one point of view, it is really interesting as the technologies influence your life more. So the idea of using microchips in our brain can become real. On the other hand, the information that we found on the internet might be wrong. In that case, people who truly believe in such information can cause some problems for themselves. The same way works propaganda in any way. Eventually, until we have the power of choice we can choose what is good and what is bad, but we should always seek facts and not let someone deceive us.
