Headache is a common condition that causes pain in the head and upper neck. Most headaches don’t require any treatment. It goes away on its own after sometimes or you just need some rest and water. Headaches can occur due to various reasons like sleeping deficiency fatigue, Dehydration, and stress.

Types of Headaches
Several types of headaches are there like
- Tension headaches
This is the most common type of headache that occurs dues due to the tightening of the muscles in the neck and scalp. It lasts for a few minutes to several days.
- Migraine headache
This is the most severe type of headache that causes throbbing and pounding pain on one side of the head. It can be acute or chronic.
- Rebound headache
This type of headache occurs if you stop your ongoing headache medication.
- Cluster headache
This is a rare kind of non-throbbing type of headache that causes burning pain on one side of the head and behind the eye. They can bring tears to the eyes and produce nasal congestion.
.The symptoms of headaches can differ from person to person depending upon the type of headaches they are suffering from.
Some common symptoms of headache are
- Affect one side or both side of the brain
- Pain radiates from the central point
- Sharp and throbbing pain
- Comes suddenly
- Lasts for few minutes to hours
It can be a cause of underlying medical conditions. So you need to consult your doctor if you are having regular and recurrent headaches. Your doctor will take your medical history and perform some tests to determine the cause of headaches and treat you accordingly
Most headaches aren’t the symptoms of underlying diseases. So they can be treated using over-the-counter medicines like ibuprofen, aspirin, and acetaminophen.
You can also try some home remedies as well like taking a hot shower, mild exercise to relieve headaches.
